EN 55022:2010 Information technology equipment– Radio disturbance characteristics– Limits and methods of measurement

Scope

International standard EN 55022:2010 is applicable to information technology equipment (ITE). Standard EN 55022:2010 defines information technology equipment as any equipment or device that operates with a rated supply voltage not exceeding 600V, has a main function of entry, storage, display, retrieval, transmission, processing, switching, or control of data and equipment that could be used in combination with one or more terminal ports with the main function– information transfer. Equipment or device, with a main function of radio transmission or reception are not covered by standard EN 55022:2010.

Classification
International standard EN 55022:2010 divides equipment, devices and apparatus it two classes:
Class B- equipment, device and apparatus, that are intended to be used in the domestic environment and meets EN 55022:2010 class B emission requirements;
Class A- equipment, device and apparatus, that do not meet the EN 55022:2010 class B emission requirements, but complies with EN 55022:2010 class A emission requirements;

If class A requirements are applied, then following warning shall be included in the instructions for use:

Warning

This is a class A product. In a domestic environment this product may cause radio interference in which case the user may be required to take adequate measures.

Examples
PC, telecommunication equipment, office machines, data processing equipment, ITE accessories, portable battery supplied devices.

Requirements
Conducted emission requirements for mains ports and telecommunication ports must be satisfied in frequency range 150kHz-30MHz.

Radiated emission requirements must be satisfied in frequency rage:
30MHz-1GHz if internal oscillator frequency is up to 108MHz
30MHz-2GHz if internal oscillator frequency is up to 500MHz
30MHz-5GHz if internal oscillator frequency is up to 1GHz
30MHz-6GHz if internal oscillator frequency is higher than 1GHz

EMC testing

RF EMC DEVELOPMENT provides accredited EMC testing to reach European market. We hold a long list of European standards for such industries as– household, industrial, automotive, medical, telecom, railway and aerospace. Our test laboratory is accredited by European notified bodies according to ISO17025. Save your time by trying to couple EMC testing with other tests and CE certification needs (safety, environmental, energy efficiency, performance).

Certification

Through our partners, notified bodies in European Union, RF EMC DEVELOPMENT provides certification services for manufacturers, retailers, distributors and suppliers to enter EU market. We provide all services to certificate your products in short time span– EMC testing, LVD testing, development for such products as: lighting equipment, automotive, consumer electronics, industrial electronic and machinery, medical equipment, telecommunications and woodworking equipment etc.
