Electromagnetic compatibility testing in EMC lab EN 61000−6−4
EN 61000‒6‒4:2007+A1 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) — Part 6 – 4: Generic standards; Emission standard for industrial environments
Scope
International standard EN 61000‒6‒4:2007 +A1 is applicable for electrical equipment, that is used or intended to be used in industrial environment supplied by high or medium voltage transformer, or for equipment that is intended to operate near to industrial environment. If product do not have any specific product standard or product family standard EN 61000‒6‒4:2007 +A1 can be applied. Standard applies to battery powered equipment, also, if equipment is intended to be used in industrial environment or close proximity.
Classification
International standard EN 61000‒6‒4:2007 +A1 have no classification of equipment it covers.
Examples
Power supplies, chargers, ventilators, heaters, water pumping systems, conveyors, mining equipment– analyzers, drills.
Requirements
Conducted emission requirements for mains ports and telecommunication ports must be satisfied in frequency range 0kHz-30MHz.
Radiated emission requirements must be satisfied in frequency rage:
- 30MHz-1GHz if internal oscillator frequency is up to 108MHz
- 30MHz-2GHz if internal oscillator frequency is up to 500MHz
- 30MHz-5GHz if internal oscillator frequency is up to 1GHz
- 30MHz-6GHz if internal oscillator frequency is higher than 1GHz
If the internal oscillator frequency is not known the measurements shall be carried out up to 6GHz.
If the internal oscillator frequency or working frequency is up to 9kHz the measurements shall be made up to 230MHz.
